XBox HD DVD Drive November 10, 2006

Finally Microsoft is releasing a XBox HD DVD drive. It plays dvds just like any other type of players and our friends at Engadget have unboxed it. It will be releasing in Japan on November 22nd for ¥19,800 which is about $170 but will be actually costing in the US for $200. A Universal Media Remote will be included in it and there will be a update later on to enable 1080p output on the 360. This will allow a full 60 megapixels per second of visuals to your compatible HDTV.

Three New PSP Colors November 4, 2006

On November 22nd, Sony will be releasing three new colors in their PSP line up. The Blue, Pink, and Silver PSP was shown in the last Toyko Game Show. There is no word of price as of yet or international availability.

LG’s HDTV Equipped Refrigerator

The LSC27990TT refrigerator has two HDTV screens in it, one is a 5-inch 1,024 x 768 which is able to connect to a dvd player. The smaller tv is 4-inches and is used for the LG’s weather and info channel. It has other features such as an FM radio, recipe bank, calendar, digital photo album, and a “CustumeCube” ice maker. Because of all of these extra features and the two tv’s, it will be available for $3600 next year.

ThinkGeek Labs have made their own cooling device for their beverages. When a beverage is cooled with ice, the drink becomes diluted and does not remain cool for that long. But with this drink cooler, which is a ball of stainless steel; it has a liquid core filled with a special type of substance that freezes solid and then releases its coolant throughout the drink slowly. With this, the drink remained colder and longer than the same volume of ice that would be used. This cool ball is available at ThinkGeek.com for $29.99.

Gorenje has made a smart table that refrigerates beverages and food. Without opening any door or walking away from your sofa, the table will open with your chilled drinks by a push of a button. It will be available by the summer of 2007 for a good chunk of you money. It will be available in different varieties such as glass, wood, and stone.

IGN got their hands on a prototype PS3 and unboxed it piece by piece. Even though they have the cables to play it, its a shame that they dont have the HDMI cable. Check out more pics at IGN.

Target has made Nintendo Wii gift cards that glow. These cards are way to thick to fit in a average wallet but they still look cool. These are mostly to attract consumers and it does a very good job of it. If I saw these in the stores I would definitely walk towards them.

Sony has increased their flash drives to 8GB, doubling the maximum capicty of usb flash drives before. It is capable of holding over 2,000 MP3 songs or high definition images, or more than 20 hours of MPEG4 video footage. Also the pre-installed Virtual Expander2 compression software allows you to store up to 3 times more data. It also features a retractable usb connector. There is an LED screen that is built on the transparent slide button that shows you the ongoing read and write operations. Available with Sony’s 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB flash drives will be the 8GB, which hit stores from November 2006.

Silver PS2 Ships to US on October 24th October 18, 2006

The Silver PS2 that has been available in Japan and Europe since 2005 and will now be available in America on October 24th. Right now gamestop is taking pre-orders for the silver edition for $129.99 and ships just three weeks before the PS3 and the Wii release. The system is packed with the standard wires and comes with one controller. Sony has not yet responded to GameSpot’s request for confirmation on the product’s US availability as of press time.
